José Francisco Sanz Requena (ORCID 0000-0003-3643-716X) is Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Physics of the University of Valladolid. Cum Laude PhD in physics from the University of Valladolid, since 2009 he is part of the UPV/EHU Planetary Sciences Group and since his incorporation as professor at the University of Valladolid, he has incorporated to the ERICA research group.
He has specialised in radiative transport in the dense atmospheres of the planets of the Solar System, working mainly on the modeling of data obtained through various space missions and ground-based telescopes.
He has published in journals such as Nature Astronomy, Nature Communications, Nature Geoscience, and Nature, with a cover paper in 2011.
He develops his teaching and research activity at the School of Computer Engineering of the University of Valladolid within the Department of Applied Physics.
He has a deep interest in scientific dissemination, which is why he usually collaborates in all kinds of initiatives to give talks, astronomical observations, as well as frequently participate in radio programs: Indeed, he leads a nation-wide bi-weekly section regarding the history of science («The Blues of Science«) in the SER Historia show in Cadena Ser.
